The website Livability, which specialises in producing research studies on topics related to community services, education, sustainability, transport, housing and the economy, has published its top 100 of the Best Cities to Live in the United States, and has included three from Florida: Gainesville, Tampa and Fort Lauderdale.

According to Livability, this list is prepared in order to guide people who are interested in finding a city that fits their expectations of quality of life and in which they can live. “If you want to move, what’s in mind? Do you want to own a home? Spend less time sitting in traffic? Or maybe you dream of starting your own business in a close-knit and supportive community?” the site asks its audiences.

The fact that three Florida cities are among the 100 best cities to live in the United States confirms that the state has ideal places to live and adds reasons for those who are interested in investing in Miami, Orlando or South Florida.

How do you choose the best cities to live in the United States?

On its website, Livability explains that the selection is made from a collection and classification of information on thousands of cities in the United States, and with Applied Geographic Solutions (AGS) the choice is made based on 100 data points and an algorithm “that takes into account measures of the economy, housing and the cost of living, services, transportation, the environment, security, education, and health of a city.”

One of the clarifications made by the firm is that in the pre-selection of the best cities to live in the United States it only takes into account “small and medium-sized” populations, between 75,000 and 500,000 inhabitants. That’s because, in his view, “that’s the sweet spot in terms of size to connect, find your people, and feel at home quickly.”

Some of the criteria that the research takes into account are amenities (restaurants, bars, entertainment, etc.), economy, education, environment, health, housing and cost of living, security and transportation.

How Much Did Florida Cities Score?
